Meet Dave

Background

Our design director Dave Mason, is a South Head local. Raised farming, Dave spent his youth shearing, fencing, working with horses and mustering - then a spell at Massey University gaining agriculture and horticulture qualifications.

This was followed by high country mustering, then management roles on a thoroughbred stud, then a 24,000 stock unit Landcorp sheep and cattle station in development.

Creative Career

Achieving farm ownership was difficult in the early ‘90s, when interest rates were high ( 21% ) and farm incomes and confidence low. Dave, Christine and family moved to the big smoke. An ability to draw led to a trainee position in an ad agency as a designer, which led to a new career in advertising. In 1995 Dave started his own company, which ran through to 2014 when he retired from mainstream advertising to concentrate on farm and orchard development.
